EVERYTHING STEMS FROM A SOLID DESIGN BRIEF.

STRATEGY

Vision first, design later

In the early stage of a new product development or design iteration, I help my clients to establish what they are trying to achieve. Distilling their purpose helps me to create more meaningful design choices.

By asking the right questions and challenging assumptions, I help distill complex goals into a clear design direction. Defining this purpose early on creates a strong foundation for the entire process. It allows me to make design choices that are not only visually compelling, but also meaningful, functional, and aligned with the client’s broader vision. Whether the aim is to improve usability, explore new markets, or push an innovative idea forward, this upfront clarity ensures every design decision contributes to the bigger picture.

CONCEPT DESIGN

I work with you to explore possibilities, sketch alternatives, and ideate solutions that hit both form and function. By combining creative thinking with proven ideation techniques, I help you communicate your vision and lay the groundwork for development.

Whether you’re refining a new product idea or exploring innovation opportunities, my process turns imagination into a tangible direction you can move forward with. This can take the form of simple explanatory sketches through to rendered, visually-striking designs.

3D MODELLING

Taking the initial concept designs, we can transform them into a digital 3D model using CAD software. The models can be used for visual representations or manufacturable parts and assemblies ready for production. I have 16 years CAD experience, with proficiency in different software applications such as Solidworks and Autodesk Fusion 360.

SHEET METAL DESIGN

The versatility of sheet metal is a fantastic solution for many consumer and industrial applications. I can design complex assemblies using sheet metal bending and forming techniques allowing different materials and assembly techniques.

ENCLOSURE DESIGN

The design of enclosures is another application of 3D modelling. From single PCB's to entire machines, I can support in designing custom enclosures that not only protect sensitive components but also integrate seamlessly with your overall product design.

PROTOTYPING

Developing models and prototypes is a fundamental stage in the product development process, bridging the gap between digital concepts and real-world solutions. From simple form studies that explore size, ergonomics, and aesthetics, to fully functional devices that demonstrate performance and usability, I support companies in building prototypes that bring ideas to life.

I employ a wide range of techniques and processes — including 3D printing, CNC machining, fabrication, and model finishing. Each method is selected to suit the stage of development and the goals of the prototype, whether that’s validating a design concept, testing assembly methods, or preparing a professional model for rigorous testing or investor pitches.

RENDERING

3D models can be transformed from purely technical components into life-like, visually compelling products through the process of rendering. Using specialist software, I apply realistic materials, textures, lighting, and environmental settings to create images that capture the look, feel, and scale of the final product. This process allows stakeholders to visualize designs in a way that static CAD models cannot, highlighting finishes, colors, and surface details before anything is physically produced.

Rendering is a powerful tool for taking an early product idea and making it appear real, enabling better decision-making, presentations, and marketing. Whether you’re pitching to investors, presenting to clients, or testing consumer appeal, high-quality rendered visuals help communicate your vision clearly, build excitement, and reduce the risk of costly revisions later in development.
