The scope of this project was to turn an initial concept sketch into a detailed 3D mockup. The design was developed further than planned, to account for human factors in use. In addition, I modelled realistic parts based on how each sheet metal component would be formed, as well as the design of some internal structural parts.

The Jet Firepit had several key requirements:

Design
The model was developed in Fusion 360. It was designed to-scale around a standard gas bottle. The base sections will be cast in aluminium, with the external panels and upper shroud formed in sheet metal. The gas bottle is mounted to a sheet metal drawer, to make access convenient for the user. It uses some standard components like a gas burner, valve, drawer runners, wheels and cabinet lock.
With the mockup CAD done, this completed the scope of the project. I created some basic renders to present the design.
